Town of Springville

Adams County, State of Wisconsin

Chairman Theisen called the meeting of the Town Board to order at 6:00 pm. All were present.

Open Meeting Compliance. The meeting agenda was posted on the Town of Springville’s announcement board and the Town of Springville website.

Approve Agenda. Motion made by Poehler to approve agenda. Second by VanBeek. All were in favor. M/C, by voice vote.

Minutes. Poehler made a motion, seconded by VanBeek, to approve the August 26, 2024 minutes. All were in favor. M/C, by voice vote.

Financial Report. The financial report of income/expense budgetary was provided and reviewed by the Town Board for the date ending 08.31.2024. Ending balances: General Account $62,695.10; Road Account $100,035.72; and Contingency Account $137,663.41.

Public Comment: Deputy Treasurer, Kim Meinhardt introduced herself as an Independent Candidate for the Position of Treasurer for Adams County.

Unfinished Business:

New Business: 

a. Motion by Poehler to have Larry do inventory on signs that need to be replaced (due to them not being able to be read from fading) and Sandy to send post cards from inventory list informing property owners of this and the cost to said property owner. VanBeek seconded. All were in favor. M/C, by voice vote.

Town Department Reports:

Town Road Update: Constituent called about their concern of the poor road condition of 11th Dr.

Fire District Update: All towns voted down proposed Fire District Budget

Ambulance Update: Signed contract goes into effect on 1/1/2025. Next meeting in Oct.

Planning and Zoning Update: Nothing out of the ordinary.

County Board Update: Planning & Zoning and Land & Water were split into separate departments. Wellness program was instituted, using funds from Opioid monies. Phase 2 of renovation to open County Offices side of building has started

Disbursements. The motion was made by Poehler, with a second by VanBeek to to approve disbursements 1- 12 for September 2024. All were in favor. M/C, by voice vote.

Set the next meeting date. The next monthly meeting will be Monday, October 28, 2024, at 6:00 pm.
